Events Conspire against CTR at Cadwell Park.
During a weekend of mixed conditions CTR overcame set backs to pick up
a few more championship points.
A positive free practice day saw the team finally iron out some of the
setup and mechanical niggles that have been hampering the team during
the season to date. After the final friday session Craig and Dan had managed
to post times approaching those set during their last visit to Cadwell
Park two years ago when they were running heavily tuned engines.
Craig - "To be able to lap close to the times we produced on our
last visit is encouraging as while we are down this year on overall power
due to the rule changes it proves that we are constantly improving our
all round ability.
However mixed conditions led to gambles on tyres for Qualifying, while
the team seemed to get decision right, both of the bike's runs were hampered
by traffic on the circuit.
Dan - "Its a big disappointment to be only 17th on the grid after
our progress yesterday. We have looked at the data and our very last lap
would have pushed us up the order, but we found traffic in the woodlands
section of the track where it is very hard to pass and we gave away at
least a second to the field.
Sundays feature races dawned bright with the outfit posting lap times
that were improving over the race distance till electrical problems left
the bike stricken at the side of the track.
Craig - "Its cruel luck we were going well and making
ground on the battle for 8th to 14th when the bike began to cut out unpredictably.

Race two the crew got off to a flying start making 5 place on the opening
lap and posting lap times that would see them overhaul about 6 bike during
the course of the race when at the end of lap 2 the red flag was shown
after an incident involving another bike. As only two laps had been completed
the grid was reset for a shortened rerun and the team were unable to reproduce
the same start. Dogged progress saw Craig and Dan battle up to 12th position
when the flag fell.
Chief Mechanic Chris - "The team is disappointed with the results
this weekend, yet again we struggled with the qualifying format and left
ourselves allot of work to do, technical issues and bad luck then made
the fight back nigh on impossible."
CTR will next be action at Brands Hatch on the August Bank holiday weekend,
which will also see the team taking part in the annual charity 'taxi'
rides, where you can have a try at the art of the passenger in aid of
"Help for Hero's".
CTR help local business P&R Labpak Ltd with corporate day out.
During
the Oulton Park round of the British Championship, CTR were very pleased
to help make a group's corporate day at the races extra special by inviting
the ladies and gents down to have a look around the bike and try it for
size.
Hope you all enjoyed your day out, we were happy to make you welcome
and here are a few pictures from your visit.
